Syn.: int. al. Dryopteris robertiana (Hoffm.) C. Chr., Lastrea robertiana (Hoffm.) Newm.

This slightly variable species is widely distributed in Eurasia and N. America. In the E. Asiatic area a special type named Dryopteris continentalis Petrov occurs, probably belonging to G. robertianum. The species belongs to the circumpolar plants (Hultén, Circumpol.
