1534 Cuscuta epilinum Weihe

This species was originally restricted to Europe and adjacent parts of Africa and Asia. In fact, the species possibly originates from the Orient. It has been introduced together with Linum usitatissimum into England, Fennoscandia and N. America. Nowadays it is less frequent. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1978, map p. 359.
