This arctic-montane species is composed of generally apomictic biotypes. It is reported among the amphi-atlantic plants (Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 230 and map 212), although the distribution in fäet is incompletely circumpolar (a gap in E. Siberia). Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 31.
