1525 Galium triflorum Michx

This boreal, partly boreal-montane species occurs disjunctly in Eurasia and more continuously in N. America. It belongs to the circumpolar plants (Hultén, Circumpol. Il, p. 260 and map 241). The distribution in Eurasia is discontinuous, with isolated occurrences for instance in the Alps and Asia Minor. The closely related G. trifloriforme Kom. in E. Asia and other related species in the Himalayas and SW. China are also mapped tentatively.
