Syn.: Draba verna L.

This species s. lat. is indigenous in probably large parts of Europe, N. Africa and W. Asia. For the intricate taxonomy, see Fl. Eur. 1/1964, p. 312f. and literature quoted there. Among the lower taxa the mainly Mediterranean subsp. praecox (Stev.) Walt. may be mentioned. Being favoured by settlement and agriculture it has been introduced into N. and S. America (Chile), Tasmania and New Zealand.
