Argentina anserina subsp. anserina
1097 Potentilla anserina L.
This widespread species belongs to a complex of taxa, here separated onto two maps, no. 1097 P. anserina s. str. (subsp. anserina) and no. 1098 P. egedii Wormskj. and closely related taxa. It is not yet possible to separate geographically the varieties distinguished in P. anserina s. str. (cf. Hultén, Circumpol. Il, p. 250). Originating from seashores and other saline soils it has spread widely as a weed. It has been introduced into, for instance, SE. Asia, S. Australia, New Zealand and Chile. It belongs to the circumpolar plants (Hultén, l. cit. and map 241). Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 218.
