This species occurs in Eurasia and, with an isolated locality, on E. Greenland. Consequently, it may be registered as an amphi-atlantic plant (Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 108 and map 90). The closely related D. ogilviensis Hult., known from a few alpine localities in NW. Canada, is also mapped.
