This polymorphic species is here represented by subsp. oederi and, without indicated distribution limits, subsp. pulchella Lönnr. and subsp. fennica Palmgr. Thus, the map is complex. Further differentiation is at present impossible. The closely related C. viridula Michx in N. America and E. Asia and the C. Asiatic C. philocrena V. Krecz. are also tentatively mapped. The. C. oederi group is almost circumpolar (Hultén, Circumpol. I, p. 170 and map 162).
