1600 Stachys palustris L.

Within this polymorphic and widespread species three subspecies are distinguished, viz. subsp. palustris in Eurasia (also introduced into N. America), subsp. pilosa (Nutt.) Epl. in N. America and subsp. homotricha (Rydb.) Hult in eastern N. America. Further, two closely related E. Asiatic species are mapped, viz. S. japonica Miq. and S. chinensis Bunge.
