This arctic-montane species occurs in some restricted areas of Eurasia and N. America. The map is partly preliminary. The gap in Siberia is, however, real. The species is recorded among the amphi-atlantic plants by Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 196 and map 177, but might just as well be regarded as a disjunctly circumpolar species.
