1372 Epilobium ciliatum Raf.

Syn.: E. americanum Hausskn.

This species originates from N. America. The map of its occurence there is incomplete. It has been introduced into N. Europe in recent times. Here the species (and its distribution) seem to be confused with E. rubescens Rydb., also from N. America. In fact the map of this species in Hultén's Atlas 1971, map 1290, is the basis of the present map. These dubious circumstances need to be clarified.
