Typha angustifolia
385 Typha angustifolia L.
This polymorphic species occurs both in the Old and the New world. The population S of the double line through Eurasia is distinguished as subsp. australis Schum. & Thonn. (syn.: T. angustata Bory & Chaub. and T. domingensis [Pers.] Steudel according to Fl. Eur. 5/1980, p. 276). In addition, T. domingensis Pers. (according to Fernald, Manual 1950, p. 61) occurs over large areas in southern N. America. This species complex is reported among the circumpolar plants (Hultén, Circumpol. I, p. 140, 250 and map 132), although there is a wide gap in E. Asia and northwestern N. America.
