930 Cardamine pratensis L.

This widespread species s. lat. forms an intricate complex (cf. Lövkvist in Symb. Bot. Ups. 14:2, 1956). It is here divided into two groups, one arctic-subarctic consisting of subsp. angustifolia (Hook.) O. E. Schulz (syn.: C. nymani Gand.) with an almost continuous circumpolar distribution (Hultén, Circumpol. Il, p. 335 f. and map 72) and another group including temperate types, thus occurring more to the south, in most of Europe, in C. and E. Asia and N. America (and there perhaps adventive and naturalized). The closely related C. occidentalis (S. Wats.) Howell in western N. America is mapped separately. C pratensis has been introduced into New Zealand.
