1507 Gentiana aurea L.

Syn.: Gentianella aurea (L.) H. Sm.

This arctic species has an amphi-atlantic distribution (Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 86 and map 67). The closely related G. umbellata M. Bieb. in Caucasus and G. aleutica Cham. & Schlecht. on the Aleutians and the S. coast of Alaska are also mapped. Closely related taxa occur in the C. Asiatic mountains.
