1539 Lithospermum officinale L.

This species seems to be native in large parts of Europe and W. and C. Asia. Some of the indicated occurrences are adventive. It has been introduced into C. and S. Africa and N. America. Two other taxa are also mapped, for instance L. erythrorhizon Sieb. & Zucc. in E. Asia. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1978, map p. 362.
