774 Spergularia rubra (L.) J. & C. Presl

This anthropochorous species probably originates from C. Europe and the Mediterranean area. It is widely spread into many parts of the world. However, it is considered indigenous around the Gulf of St. Lawrence (Fernald). With its present distribution the species belongs to the circumpolar plants (Hultén, Circumpol. Il, p. 258 and map 249).
