1423 Angelica archangelica L. subsp. litoralis (Fr.) Thell.

This subspecies is mainly bound to the seashores of N. Europe. It may be confused with subsp. archangelica or even merge into it. Therefore, the map may partly be unreliable, for instance concerning northernmost Fennoscandia and Iceland (cf. no. 1422). - A. archangelica s. lat. belongs to the amphi-atlantic plants (Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 100 and map 82).
