1435 Diapensia lapponica L.

This mainly arctic species is divided into two subspecies, viz. subsp. lapponica in Europe and northeastern N. America, thus an amphi-atlantic plant (Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 222 and map 204), and subsp. obovata (Fr. Schm.) Hult. occurring in E. Asia and northwestern N. America. Totally, the species has a circumpolar distribution.
