411 Eriophorum scheuchzeri Hoppe

This arctic to subarctic-montane species belongs to the circumpolar plants (Hultén, Circumpol. I, p. 26 and map 19). Cf. also Meusel et al. 1965, map p. 58. A separate Asiatic and NW. American taxon is distinguished as E. altaicum Meinsh. (sensu Raymond). It is possibly identical with E. scheuchzeri var. tenuifolium Ohwi and tentatively mapped here.
