1746 Knautia arvensis (L.) Coult.

This polymorphic species (cf. Fl. Eur. 4/1976, p. 65 f.) occurs in mast of Europe and adjacent parts of Africa and Asia. It has spread with farming and settlement and has been introduced into N. America and New Zealand. The species s. str., i. e. subsp. arvensis, occurs in N. and C. Europe down to the broken line.
