1048 Filipendula ulmaria (L.) Maxim.

Within the wide Eurasiatic range of this rather polymorphic species some subspecies are distinguished. F l. Eur. 2/1968, p. 6 reports, besides subsp. ulmaria, subsp. picbaueri (Podp.) Smejkal from SE. Europe to C. Siberia (gap in S. Russia) and subsp. denudata (J. & C. Presl) Hayek from C. Europe to NE. Russia. The species has been introduced into N. America (subspp. ulmaria and denudata).
