1457 Chamaedaphne calyculata (L.) Moench

This mainly boreal species belongs to the circumpolar plants (Hultén, Circumpol. Il, p. 98 and map 89). There is, however, a wide distribution gap in the North Atlantic area. Fossils of interglacial age are found in E. England. Cf. also Meusel et al. 1978, map p. 328.
