1826 Artemisia borealis Pall.

This arctic-montane species (or subspecies of A. campestris; FI. Eur. 4/1976, p. 186) has a circumpolar distribution. The population at the Gulf of Bothnia is distinguished as subsp. bottnica (Lundstr.) Hult., thus endemic there.
