This species, in the sense of F1. Eur. 3/1972, p. 263, is widely distributed in Eurasia. E. pectinata and E. tatarica are separated in Fl. SSSR 22, p. 570, 577. The range of E. tatarica is drawn according to Hultén in Bot. Not. (Lund) 128/1975, p. 361. According to Fl. Eur. (I. cit.) E. pectinata has a somewhat wider distribution in C. and S. Europe than is given for E. tatarica by Hultén (I. cit.).
