1471 Primula sibirica Jacq.
This polymorphic species includes at least two subspecies, viz. subsp. sibirica with a wide but discontinuous distribution in Asia and a more restricted occurrence in northwestern N. America and subsp. finmarchica (Jacq.) Hult . (syn.: P. nutans Georgi) in parts of N. Europe. Further, some closely related species are mapped, viz. P. iljinskii Fed., P. knorringiana Fed. and P. pamirica Fed. in the C. Asiatic mountains and P. egaliksensis Wormsk. which has a disjunct distribution from northwestern N. America over to Greenland and lceland. Together all these taxa have a circumpolar distribution (Hultén, Circumpol. Il, p. 60 and map 51).
