1922 Taraxacum, the section Arctica Dahlst.
This section with a least six arctic, apomictic species (Hultén, Circumpol. Il, p. 30; the T. phymatocarpum J. Vahl group in Fl. Eur. 4/1976, p. 334) has a circumpolar distribution (Hultén, I. cit. and map 22). The population in the S. Norwegian mountains is distinguished as T. dovrense Dahlst.
