This arctic species includes here also P. hartzii Gand. (possibly the hybrid P. arctica x glauca according to Nannfeldt in Symb. Bot. Ups. 1:5/1935, p. 26, or P. glauca x P. abbreviata according to Fl. Eur. 5/1980, p. 166; cf. also Hultén, Amphi-atl., p. 178 and map 159). The species is reported among the amphiatlantic plants (Hultén, op. cit., p. 20 and map 2). Its range may, however, appear to be circumpolar, when the knowledge of the distribution in Siberia has improved.
